New Series Artwork: CROWNED

My initial post on the Crowned series listed it as an 11 week series.  After prayerful consideration, we have condensed the series to a 5 week message series that leads up to Easter. I may use some of the unused ideas in my preschool SPARKS class.

We will immediately begin the CROWNED series after wrapping up our ANGER DANGER series.  CROWNED focuses on life lessons we can learn from some of the Bible's most famous and infamous kings.  The final message will be taught on Palm Sunday and is entitled King of Kings. (To allow families time to be together in the sanctuary, we have no Kids' Church on Easter.  We do our Easter service on Palm Sunday.)

The series will also tie in fictional and cartoon kings to assist in making the Biblical kings easier to understand for the kids.  I will be uploading the series in the next few days.

The First King
Saul loses his crown because he disobeys God.  We wrote a skit where the Burger King king loses his paper crown after he disobeys the commercial director and eats a whopper before the commercial can be shot instead of waiting until after the commercial is filmed.

The Give Up King
Asa gives up on his faith in the end.  We will be using the clip of Lightning McQueen helping the King across the finish line in the Disney & Pixar film CARS.

The Dancing King
King David dances before the Lord unashamed.  We have wrote a skit about the King Vitamin king who dances before the Lord when he discovers a toy in his box of King Vitamin cereal.

The Kid King
Despite his youth, Josiah did great things for God.  He cleansed the land of idolatry.  We will be using the story of Simba from Disney's animated film The Lion King.  Simba chased the hyenas and Scar from the Pride Lands.

King of Kings
Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey and the townspeople cried out Hosanna.  We will learn that of all the great Kings, Jesus is King of Kings.  After our service, the kids will enjoy an Easter egg hunt.
