Tomb Project

I assisted the student pastors in making this tomb for the drama's Easter performance.  They also made a roll away stone to go infront of the tomb.  We used bulletin board paper, wadded it up into a big ball to create a stone-like texture, unrolled it, cut it into long sections, taped the sections around a pvc pipe frame (we had left over as a frame for a balloon arch from Valentine's Day) in the form of columns stacked on top of one another, and stuffed the two bottom columns in each side with items we found around the church to help support the top pieces and keep the shape of the columns (painters' tarps, table cloths, etc.). The roll away stone is a wood platform with wheels. A large piece of cardboard was cut in the shape of a large stone. We covered it with crumpled up brown postal paper. This cost the church less than $10 to make. Nearly all of the items the student pastors used to make the tomb were found around the church, and a few items like the wheels were donated.
