SEUSSVILLE PART I & II

SEUSSVILLE

DR. SEUSS PRESCHOOL BIBLE SERIES

                Horton Hears A Who

                                I.            Samuel Hears The Lord

   “I am listening, Lord.” – 1 Samuel 3:9 (CEV)

1.       Prayer Time

2.       Snack & Restroom Break

3.       Movie Clip:

We watched the opening clip of Horton Hears A Who from the
                beginning
until Horton first considers the fact that there may be little
                people on the speck.

4.       Bible Lesson:

I told the kids the story of Samuel hearing a voice during the night
while he slept.  We put our heads down on the table while Samuel
                was
“asleep” then we all say “SAMUEL” and snatch our heads up.
                We ran to
Eli’s room twice before we finally figured out it the Lord
                speaking to
Samuel.  After our lesson, we discussed the importance of
                listening to
God when he speaks to us.

5.       Craft:

I printed out elephant templates from google images and the kids
                made
paper plate Hortons with their memory verse written on the
                back.

                              II.            God Sees Little David

   “I am listening, Lord.” – 1 Samuel 3:9 (CEV)

1.       Prayer Time

2.       Snack & Restroom Break

3.       Movie Clip:

We watched the clip from the movie where the mayor finally hears
Horton, too.  They discover that though the significantly different in
size,  they Whos are just as real as Horton.

4.       Bible Lesson:

I told the kids the story of Samuel visiting to Jesse to choose on of

Jesse’s sons as the next king.  Even though David’s family didn’t think

he was important enough and kingly enough to be considered by

Samuel as king, God had already picked little David to be the next
                king.

We acted out the story and discussed how God has plans for us, too.

Whether we’re three or a hundred and three.

5.       Craft:

We made handprint clovers and specks.
