ANGER DANGER SERIES

"In your anger, do not sin" - Ephesians 4:26

Three Part Series on Righteous and Unrighteous Anger

  1. In the game Angry Birds, the birds are seeking revenge on the pigs because the
pigs have stolen their eggs. In the Bible, God asked Cain and Abel to offer him their best.  When God is more pleased with Abel's offering, anger begins to eat away at Cain's heart.

  2. ANGRY ACTIONS (View Sample Order of Service)
The angry birds could have simply talked things over with the pigs. They could have called the police.  However, they chose to let the sin build up until they lashed out at the pigs in violence.  Cain also let his jealousy build up until he exploded with violence.

  3. RIGHTEOUS ANGER (View Sample Order of Service)
When the angry birds let their anger explode into violence, it became a sin.  Even
though the pigs sinned first by stealing their eggs, the birds were still wrong, too.
Sometimes we think because we are wronged first that our unrighteous anger is justified.  If our sibling hits us, and then, we turn around and hit them back, it doesn’t matter who hit who first.  Our parents will punish both of us. God was not happy when Cain killed Abel.  He punished him, but God also had mercy on him.  We have consequences for our sins, but the same God who had mercy on Cain also
    has mercy on us.
